Default New High School Proposed??????????

One of the lead articles in the Herald was "New High School Proposed"??????

If the Ten Commandments cannot be posted, prayer and Bible-reading are not allowed, DO NOT go into any "building programs". God's Blessed Name will be revered or these public institutions do not need to be built.
Beware, the Lord will not bless this endeavor and it will be grief to the all.

No God, No Bible, No Boundaries, No discipline, dictates from atheists, forget it.

"It is impossible to rightly govern the World without God & the Bible."

George Washington

Don't "second guess" this Beloved leader, George Washington loved his people and he told them the "TRUTH."

Either take courage, Trust God, Put up the Commandments and "be a city set on a hill" or go no farther with building "citadels of confusion". Think of it, little children under the auspice of the Rhea County School Board cannot openly pray, read the Bible which is their only hope.

Default Founder's Idea of American Education

Dr. Benjamin Rush was a contemporary of all of the Founders of this Beloved Country.
Just so we understand that the Founders would never have "sanctioned" atheistic, humanistic education at the expense of the Public. I give a quote:

"The only foundation for a useful education in a republic is to be laid in religion. Without this there can be no virtue, and without virtue there can be no liberty, and liberty is the object and life of all republican governments." --Benjamin Rush, On the Mode of Education Proper in a Republic

What more can they say (the Founders) then to us they have said. Atheism and humanism will not due in this Beloved Constitutional Republic. Supreme Court decision 1892, "This is a Christian Nation".

Default Excuse me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, all of this is not going to be "aside". Read the POSTS that are earlier in this "Thread".

More "educational institutions" are not the "answer". Elaborate buildings, rotten textbooks, and "politically correct educators" are not the "answer". These "mandates" are coming straight from the BEP in Nashville to destroy the County level education. We have a "locally elected" School Board and they are "handmaidens of the BEP" which we "locally can not afford".

GET OUT OF BEP. We will give to Public Education what we can "afford locally" nothing more. NO more dictates, No more Godless education, No more atheism taught to children who "do not know their right hand from their left" and that means children do not have judgment, No more "lack of discipline" because of the ridiculous rules handed from the State.

GRANTS mean ENSLAVEMENT.

Default McGuffey - "Schoolmaster of the Nation"

Here the instructions of this man, William Holmes McGuffey who was known as the " Schoolmaster of the Nation" He is the author of the Famous "McGuffey Readers" which were "standard textbooks" in the United States before we became "sweeter and kinder than God". The precepts taken from the Scriptures in these PUBLIC SCHOOL TEXTBOOKs taught generations of Americans to read, while they were learning the valuable tool of reading, they also were taught Scriptural principles that inculcated in their lives the "fear of God".

"The Christian religion is the religion of our Country. From it are derived our prevalent notions of the character of God, the great moral governor of the universe. On its doctrines are founded the peculiarities of our free institutions."

William Holmes McGuffey

Default Good Letter to the Editor - Sherri Ross

The Herald had a "letter to the Editor" from this lady. It is a good letter. Her plea was "Schools shouldn't accept stimulus money". She understands "government intrusion" and even, money, "The Grant", doesn't persuade this good woman. She complains legitimately about Bible and prayer removal from Public Schools HERE. She states, "Should we really gamble with a government that rarely, if ever, acknowledges even the existence of God or His presence in the forming of our government." After explaining her "good" convictions which are not predicated on "money", she declares, "We need to take this stand against big spending, big government and for our children."
I do not know this lady, but if she will reply on this Forum, I'd like to hear her comments, from what I read in this letter, She is a "God-fearing, normal American." Thanks be unto God.

A Letter of commendation from One Rhea County citizen to another. Good for you.

Default DEBT, DEBT, and MORE DEBT

If the School Board doesn't cease and desist from this building of this high school, we are going to be passing to posterity at least 21 years of DEBT.

A man at the "workshop" tonight, even went on to say this project could be "Financed for 30 years". This is preposterous. This DOES NOT include the "remodeling of the Old High School" which is also in "the works".

Plus the fact the the Graysville Elementary and the Spring City Elementary are no where near being paid for. The Hospital is meeting it's bill, but the County is also responsible for that debt should hospital finances drop off!!??

These "financial arrangements" for long term DEBT are very dangerous. The man suggested 1. Property tax increase 2. Wheel tax. NO WAY

The Federal Government just passed $3 Trillion Budget at the Federal Level. People are FINISHED with taxes. All levels of government are calling for MORE and MORE Taxes.

"If we don't have it, We won't do it" As taxpayers, we can not furnish any more. We are "tapped out". NO MORE.

Default Herald Article

The Herald printed an article that says, Folks are willing to pay more for a "High School".
I have a suggestion to those who want to pay more taxes, here's what to do. When you go to pay your taxes, just tell the clerk that you are adding a "premium" to your tax bill. The "extra money" you pay will go into an Savings account to "save to build a new school", when the account is up to the money needed for the project, then the School Board can proceed to "plan for a new school".
I don't want to "give" to the "savings account". I don't want to have to be "FORCED" to pay for this "extravaganza".
Billy Ray Patton's idea of a "wheel tax" is out. Didn't he say back when he was "crusading for sales tax" that no more money would be needed for schools for 25 years. I didn't believe it and didn't vote for it, but the "sales tax passed" and I think that was maybe, two or three years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NO WHEEL TAX. NO EXCUSE.

So people if you believed that from Mr. Patton, "HOLD HIM TO HIS WORD."

"IF WE DON'T HAVE IT, WE DON'T SPEND IT"

Default My School?????????????

If I built a school, it would not be a "taj Mahal", it would probably be a "mobile unit" not very expensive. For it is not what the physical properties are of the buildings and such that make an education, It is the subject matter given to students (Ten Commandments of Almighty God, Bible reading and prayer, Civics, and True American History, and discipline).

NO FUN at my school, only the Truth and real Education.
